Embedding Functional Skills into Motor Vehicle Studies

Produced by the Learning Skills Improvement Service, these materials help to demonstrate effective practice. By Cambridge Regional College, this case study looks at the themes of functional skills, equality, engineering and mathematics.

The aim of the project was to work with staff to raise awareness of the requirements of functional skills and so enable them to identify where they are being taught but may not be signposted or recognised.

It also supported staff in the writing of functional skills into schemes of work and lesson plans. The project developed under-used functional skills and integrated them into a vocational context.
