Year One Summer Term

This resource aimed at lower primary children, supports learning about place value, fractions, addition and subtraction. The two detailed weekly plans contain differentiated activities, guided and independent tasks and the resources required for each lesson. Objectives covered in the lessons include:

Week One 

  • Recite numbers to 100
  • Count up to 100 objects (for example beads on a bead bar)
  • Count on in tens from single-digit numbers and back; order numbers to 100 on a track, then a beaded line
  • Compare two numbers less than 100, say which is more or less
  • Say a number between any given neighbouring pairs of multiples of ten (for example 40 and 50)
  • Work out halves and quarters of shapes and amounts

Week Two 

  • Add and subtract 10 or 11 from 2-digit numbers
  • Mental addition and subtraction using near multiples and place value
