Science 5/13 is aimed at helping teaches help children between the ages of five and thirteen years to learn science through first-hand experience using a variety of methods. The project produces books that comprise units dealing with subject areas in which children are likely to conduct investigations.

Ourselves: Finding out things about the body for oneself is more interesting, rewarding and fun than reading about them in books. Consequently the whole emphasis of this unit is on aspects of ourselves that can be discovered at first hand. Ourselves is a topic with many facets, and a number of the activities suggested can be linked up with simple and undisturbing issues of health.
