Use these combat cards to show how technology has evolved over the years. From Apple iPads, Raspberry Pi, Micro:bit to the IMB Personal computer. Compare RAM size, Cache, CPU, whilst learning how each piece of technology was made and developed.
This dot to dot activity, from the Maths of the Month series published by BEAM, challenges students to recognise and sequence numbers from 80 to 104, producing a picture of a house.
*Dot to dot - sequencing two digit numbers.
This engineering challenge asks students to create a minute-long digital animated film that tells a creative, fictional story about a concept related to engineering. The resource provides questions to support students through the process of planning their video and asks them to create a storyboard before filming to...
Jingle Bells, a Christmas themed activity, published by BEAM. In this activity, students have to identify a range of musical notes. Students are required to construct a tally chart. From the results of the tally chart a bar chart can be drawn. Students then have to interpret their results by deciding which student...
In this activity, aimed at primary-aged pupils, children will design a coronation throne for the coronation of King Charles III that incorporates modern technologies. Pupils will also think about how to communicate their design ideas using sketches, notes and annotations.
This resource, from the Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching, uses diagrams to illustrate division by a fraction and, to clarify the common misconception identified with this task, prompts students to rethink the statement, divide three by one quarter, as the number of quarters that fit into three....
This interactive online game is designed for pupils aged 7 to 11 to develop their understanding of the different types of personal protective equipment (PPE) and its importance in keeping workers safe. It is linked to the different job roles in a fictitious power station.

Published in November 2014, this report from the Office for Public Management (OPM) evaluates the impact of the ENTHUSE Cluster programme with the third cohort of schools.
The full collection of STEM Learning impact and evaluation research reports can be viewed...
Children are challenged by ‘Tees Engineering’ to solve their water filtration problem using everyday filters found around the home. They hunt for household filters, make their own sample of murky reservoir water to pour through the filters to find out how quickly and how effectively they do their job.
Four paths are shown connecting opposite corners of a square. Tasks are to work out which is the longest path and which is the shortest path. This resource is suitable for Key Stages 2.
Charlie Taylor’s Behaviour Checklists, Getting the Simple Things Right, look at the simple things that should be put in place to create good behaviour for learning. It includes the two lists 'key principles for headteachers to help improve school behaviour' and 'behaviour checklist for teachers'.
Two people are playing a guessing game. One of them thinks of a five letter word, and each time the other makes a guess they tell them the number of letters that they got correct. Can you figure out the correct word with just three guesses?
There are two further examples to try.
This series of colourful sheets contain photographs of living things that may be found in different habitats. They are useful to use when identifying different plants and animals. The sheets are:
Coastal
Conifer woodland
Estuary wildlife
Farmland
Summer Wader
These spotter...
Dallas Campbell talks about how bras require engineering design to enable them to be both comfortable and supportive. He explains how a bra manufacturer...
This series of spotter sheets are useful when identifying common invertebrates in their habitats. The photographs of various ‘minibeasts’ include different species of bees, butterflies, dragon flies, moths, shield bugs...
