Settlers

This activity supplies students with a grid of numbers and a series of questions. The answers to the questions are located somewhere in the grid. Once found, students shade in the answer. When complete there will be some answers unused. These are added to gain the target number. Number bonds to ten requires students to pair up numbers, given to one decimal place, which add up to 10. The target value is 12. Simplifying expressions requires students to collect like terms in order to simplify simple algebraic expressions. The target value is 2a + 2b Sine and cosine requires students to solve equations to find all the solutions in the range 0 to 360 degrees. The target value is 685.
