Water engineer

This video introduces Nariba, a graduate water engineer for engineering company Halcrow. Nariba performs assessments for construction projects, focusing on flood risk management. Her work includes water management, drainage, flooding, water quality issues, flood risk management and flood defenses.

She explains how she started working for the company straight after studying civil and environmental engineering at university. She discusses her experience of coming to study in the UK, and of being one of the only female students on her degree course. Nariba reveals how meeting a female civil engineer at a school careers event inspired her to pursue a career in engineering, the influence that her parents have had on her as well as her charity work and her career goals.
