Astrobiology

The search for life on other worlds is one of the most fascinating contexts that science lessons can have. In this guide, several of the resources focus on practical experiments or investigations that link astrobiology to the science curriculum. In all cases, regular scientific concepts such as factors affecting enzyme activity and biochemical food tests are delivered with the inspirational hook of astrobiology. Some resources are websites or apps that provide unique data related to exoplanet discovery, evolution of life on Earth and how conditions on Earth have changed over 4.5 billion years of history.

This is one of a suite of guides which provide a full range of suggestions for effective enhancement and enrichment activities which can be incorporated into the scheme of work, and these can be found on the triple science support enhancement and enrichment webpage.

The guides include: Fieldwork, Genomics - using a researcher in the classroom, Crest Awards, STEM Ambassadors, Chemistry at WorkFaraday Challenges, Radiation and medicine, and Careers.
