Huddersfield New College
Huddersfield New College, is a sixth form college located on the edge of the Pennines.
In the first year of running the Core Maths programme, a strong partnership with the Science Department was established which facilitated the recruitment of students to the programme and high retention rates. This case study highlights the proactive strategy implemented by both the mathematics and science department to following up on student absence that led to very low-level dropout rates from the course.
