Ingenious engineering app

This lesson from Siemens uses an app to inform students about new technologies and the impact of automation, digitalisation, and electrification on individuals, society and the environment.  It is intended to address the 'evaluate' strand of the key stage 3 design and technology curriculum. Using the app, which users need to see augmented reality images, students investigate the engineering and impact on society of wind turbines, driverless cars, and roller coasters. They are then required to complete a series of questions on each technology.

A lesson plan is provided giving details of how to run the activity along with supporting worksheets and the poster needed for the augmented reality images to be seen.
