SimEnergy 2

Like ‘The Sims’, in this SimPhysics game students look after a family and keep their home supplied with electricity. In the game scenario the government has set a carbon dioxide quota for each household, so limiting their contribution to climate change. The player has to invest in renewable sources of electricity so that supply can match the family’s demand. Along the way, the player will find out which ones are cost effective and their advantages and disadvantages. The player's main goal is to survive four months, but they may only install one renewable per month. The supply from renewables is initially topped up using electricity from the grid, but because of the CO2 quota, this may run out before the four months are up. Teachers' notes are provided, which include advice on using the game in lessons.
