Sensory Design Executive: Jenny Tillotson

This STEMNET resource describes the background and career of STEM Ambassador Jenny Tillotson, the Chief Executive Officer of Sensory Design and Technology Ltd. Jenny produces mood-enhancing clothes, jewellery and medical products.

Reading science fiction novels set Jenny thinking about how the arts and science could work together in an innovative way. She recognises how science and maths help in making ideas a reality. Having observed the healing effects of certain aromas on patients, Jenny used her design knowledge to produce everyday objects and clothing that could improve individual's quality of life.

“At school, I didn’t think that science was important to someone like me, but now I definitely see the benefits.”
