Airworthiness Engineer: Nathan Kan
This STEMNET resource describes the background and career of STEM Ambassador Nathan Kan, a Senior Airworthiness Engineer.
Nathan works for QinetiQ, a company which provides technology-based services to the defence, security and related markets. It also delivers consultancy services to commercial and industrial customers across the world. He says that the aerospace industry offers opportunities to specialise in a wide range of different areas of engineering.
Nathan's role is to determine whether design specifications for different aeroplanes meet their intended use, assess repairs and ensure that the aircraft are fit for purpose.
