Nitrogen Notes
A Catalyst article investigating what nitrogen and its compounds are used for. Nitrogen is colourless, odourless, non-toxic and inert, and has a wide range of uses. Nitrogen makes up seventy eight per cent of the Earth’s atmosphere by volume and has a considerable influence on respiration in plants and animals. The article looks at liquid nitrogen, nitrogen fixation, its compounds and its presence in the atmosphere.
