Bridging the Gap Between KS4 and KS5
Produced by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), this case study looks at the theme of progression through STEM subjects. From the City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College, the aim of this study was to identify weaknesses at GCSE level and to implement strategies which would better aid progression into Key Stage Five.
The preliminary outcomes of this project identified that any bridging activities would need to develop a number of skills, including laboratory skills such as the ability to read technical text and laboratory protocols.
