Mathematics Quality and Assessment Tests: 2005 Key Stage Two Tests

This resource from the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) contains the Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs) for Key Stage Two for the year 2005, and their associated mark schemes.

There are three papers: the Mental Test which is given orally via a tape recording to ensure timings are consistent across schools, Paper A which has to be done without the aid of a calculator and Paper B where a calculator is allowed. For each of the tests 45 minutes is allowed and together they cover the breadth of the National Curriculum Attainment targets.

Although the tests are marked externally the mark schemes were supplied to teachers for information. General guidance on marking is given as well as more specific marking of questions with examples of acceptable and non-acceptable responses.
