Music's Energy Footprint

Produced by Teachers TV, this video looks at climate change from an interesting perspective. The UK music industry is working with energy and climate researcher Catherine Bottrill to reduce its carbon footprint. They identified three main areas of emissions: live music venues, audience travel and compact disc manufacture.

In this video, Catherine visits a large music venue and meets with the venue's operations manager to look at what energy saving measures the venues are taking.

The video also shows a discussion about the problems associated with trying to reduce audience travel emissions, how the carbon footprint of compact discs can be reduced by 95 per cent and how renewable energy sources may be the only way to ensure a low carbon future.
