Gavin is a former computing lead teacher and MAT computing network coordinator with over 17 years experience in teaching and leading primary subjects. He has taught regularly across the age range from EYFS to post-graduate level including work within specialist SEND settings.

Gavin is currently a lecturer at Edge Hill University (Lancashire) in Primary Education and strand lead for Primary Computing. In a former life he was a video games developer, producer and project manager on a number of high-profile national education projects.

His academic interests include physical computing & embodiment, computing & linguistics, technology and creativity across the curriculum, EdTech applications and the relationship between games design and traditional pedagogy.
