Episode 503: Preparation for Lasers Topic

Episode 504: How Lasers Work A learning episode is a self-contained unit of activity that takes typically one or two lessons to complete. For this topic, students should already be familiar with the wave nature of light, including interference. They should also know how light is emitted by electron transitions within atoms.

Following completion of the activities, students will be able to:

1. outline the principles of operation of a laser

2. state some uses of high and low energy lasers.
