The National Science + Engineering Competition is open to all students aged 11-18 years living in the UK and in full-time education. The Competition aims to recognise and reward young people's achievements in all areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

The Competition is open for entries from January to October each year, through either regional heats or online applications. The chosen finalists are invited to showcase their work to thousands of people at The Big Bang Fair in March.

The National Science + Engineering Competition is an initiative supported by a number of STEM organisations including the Big Bang Fair, British Science Association, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Crest Awards and Young Engineers.
