This series of resources have been created for use by teachers and/or Environment Agency STEM Ambassadors to teach pupils about the impact of climate change on flooding. They also highlight the role of the Environment Agency in mitigating the effects of flooding and the career opportunities available within the organisation.

Both resources inform pupils about the types of flooding, the impact of climate change on flooding and then gets pupils discussing why flooding is a problem. Each resource contains a group work activity looking at how to reduce the impact of flooding. 'There will be rain' is a hands on problem solving challenge modelling the flow of water down a hillside and 'Who can save Stemville?' asks pupils to evaluate different flood management systems to protect the fictitious town of Stemville and devise a plan to stop it flooding within a fixed budget.

The resources have been designed to be delivered by a teacher and/or an Environment Agency STEM Ambassador if one is available. If an Environment Agency STEM Ambassador is able to visit a school, separate guidance notes are provided to give advice on how to run the activities and appropriate language to use.
