Electrical Engineer: Caron Malone

This STEMNET resource describes the background and career of electrical and electronics undergraduate, and STEM Ambassador, Caron Malone.

Caron had always been interested in electronics and studied physics, maths and technology at school. She gained a Power Academy scholarship, which was introduced by power companies to address a skills shortage in the industry. Caron has undertaken holiday work placements and a year-long industrial placement.

Caron suggests, “Look past university to the job at the end. The power industry is a great career, and we need people to develop new technology so that we can progress with green energy.”
