This booklet from National Strategies describes teaching approaches that can be used to develop mental mathematics abilities beyond level five.

This booklet covers:
* geometric reasoning (lines, angles and shapes);
* using symmetries, reflections, rotations and translations;
* enlargement and similarity;
* constructions and loci, and working in three dimensions.

It includes some of the aspects of geometry that have been reported as having implications for teaching and learning from the Key Stage Three tests.
