Problem Solving 2

In this Teachers TV video, Chris Randall explains Teacher of the Future, an intervention programme designed to improve standards in mathematics.

The intervention programme provides ten weeks of intensive support to enable teachers to develop their understanding and knowledge of mathematics and to target individual students working just below level four.

The Teacher of the Future team centrally plans lessons to deliver difficult areas of the curriculum and then works alongside teachers in schools to adapt these lessons to their students’ needs. In this film specialist teacher Pali Nahal supports a class teacher in the use of a problem solving lesson plan, explaining how ICT can be used to break down the text of the problem and highlight mathematical language.
