Species Bingo (Age 7 to 11)

This is a Bingo activity from Arkive which can be used outside the classroom. Children are asked to circle living things they see on their sheet whilst on a field trip or nature walk. If they get four in a row they can shout 'Bingo'. This leads to a discussion on where the different species were found which can lead onto further work on habitats. Children could also be asked to get into groups as predators, prey or producers, using the species they see to produce food chains. This resource can be used as a thinking skills lesson where children are asked to sort the species into various groups that they decide upon. For example: into their habitats, plants and animals or producers, prey and predators.
