Storing Our Stuff

In this resource from Teachers TV, children from Brecknock School in North London work on an aspect of school improvement with a designer William Warren. The idea for this project comes from The Sorrell Foundation and is called the Joinedupdesignforschools project.

Children look at the problem they have storing their belongings in school and think creatively about a solution. The designer listens to their ideas and guides them through the design experience. The resulting designs are individual lockers which look like little houses, each with its own distinctive front door.

Children are empowered by their sense of project ownership and show increased confidence and a wider understanding of design technology and its application to the real world.
