Getting in Shape: Early Stages

Produced by the Rowett Institute, this booklet, aimed at Early Years Foundation Stage, is a cross curricular programme taught through interesting and innovative methodologies.

Focusing on how our food is produced, nutrition education, physical activity, and the role of the media, this resource provides teachers with ideas, and links to resources. It aims to teach through a programme of experiential learning, providing learners with the knowledge and understanding of the requirements of a healthy lifestyle.

Included in the booklet is a learning and teaching ideas grid to assist in the planning of an integrated, structured, cross-curricular, programme of work. The Curriculum Planner provides an overview of how the programme fits into all the relevant subject areas.
