Fractions and Decimals

This series of interactive excel sheets explore fractions and decimals. Answers can be checked each time and new questions generated at the click of a button.

The first sheet explores tenths, hundredths and thousandths. Click to highlight the digits that make up a number and with a second click the value or meaning can be revealed.

The second sheets generates a range of units (centimetres, metres, kilometres, pounds and kilograms) which students have to round to the nearest whole.

In the third sheet, students have to complete the parts of a decimal calculation by selecting values from a range of four possible fraction answers.

The fourth sheet generates five numbers with up to three decimal places to be placed in order- greatest at the top, smallest at the bottom.

In the fifth sheet students have to select to either multiply or divide by either ten, one hundred or one thousand to complete a decimal calculation.

The sixth sheet generates five questions in which pupils have to convert between metric units. Questions can cover litre to millilitre, pounds to pence, kilograms to grams, metre to centimetre or centimetre to metre conversions.

The following sheet generates five questions involving addition of mixed units. Parts of each question can be revealed and pupils can offer answers in order to complete the sim.

The final sheet explores finding the value between two numbers that have up to two decimal places. Reveal more values on a given number line to help pupils get to the correct answer.

Note: This program was designed to be viewed on a screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768. Users may have to adjust the resolution of their screen for the pages to display as was originally intended. The program uses macros which need to be enabled on the users' machine.
