Circles - Equations and Graphs

This excel program contains a series of interactive spreadsheets related to the equation of the circle. The first sheets enable the student to alter the radius and centre of the circles centred at the origin and elsewhere. The program allows the student to view the graphs of the circles as they transform.

The penultimate sheet generates circles and allows students to find and verify the centre, radius and the equation of the circle in the form
(x+a)2 + (y+b)2 = r2 and the alternate form x2+y2+2fx+2gy+c=0.

The final sheet generates circles and lines so that students can find and verify the points of intersection.

Note
This program was designed to be viewed on a screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768. Users may have to adjust the resolution of their screen for the pages to display as was originally intended. The program uses macros which need to be enabled on a machine.
