Bodmas and Bidmas
This excel file has four interactive sheets dealing with the order of operations. The first shows groups of calculations involving addition, subtraction and multiplication where the answers can be revealed. The second interactive sheet is similar, but it deals with calculations involving division instead of multiplication. The next sheet deals with calculations with the four operations and brackets whilst the final sheet requires students to insert brackets to make the shown calculations correct. The final sheet requires teacher input as students are asked to say if any of the brackets in the answers are unnecessary.
There are a further two sheets of questions which may be suitable for duplicated for classroom use.
Note
This program was designed by be viewed on a screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768. Users may have to adjust the resolution of their screen for the pages to display as was originally intended. The program uses macros which need to be enabled on users’ machine.
