Positive and Negative Numbers - Brick Walls
This excel file deals with the four operations on positive and negative numbers giving practice at a variety of calculations.
The first interactive sheet shows a table with -5 to 5 both along the top and down the side. One of the operations- addition, subtraction or multiplication can be chosen and the contents of the cells revealed. All the cells can be filled and the positive and negative entries coloured differently. The second sheet deals with division in a similar way. The remaining six interactive sheets show number walls where operations are carried out on either positive or a mixture of positive and negative numbers. The contents of cells can be revealed in various orders so that understanding of inverse operations can be explored.
There are a further nine sheets of questions which may be suitable for classroom use.

This program was designed by be viewed on a screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768. Users may have to adjust the resolution of their screen for the pages to display as was originally intended. The program uses macros which need to be enabled on users’ machine.
