Comparing and Ordering – Numbers and Quantities

This series of interactive excel sheets aimed at Reception students explores comparing and ordering both numbers and quantities. Answers can be checked each time and new questions generated at the click of a button.

The first sheet contains two boxes, students have to select the box that has more or fewer items within it. The following sheet has three boxes for students to choose from.

In the third sheet students are asked a ‘less than’, ‘more than', 'greater than' or ‘smaller than’ question, and can choose from two possible options. In the following sheet students have three options to select from.

In the fifth sheet students have to build towers that are bigger, smaller or the same as another tower on the page.

In the next sheet students have to select values between 1 and 20 in order to complete a sentence comparing a series of numbers.

The seventh sheet encourages student to visually recognise the difference in size of numbers up to 10. It contains four towers that students have to place in order from largest smallest.

In the final sheet students are given five numbers and have to arrange them in order from greatest to smallest.

This program was designed by be viewed on a screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768. Users may have to adjust the resolution of their screen for the pages to display as was originally intended. The program uses macros which need to be enabled on the users' machine.
