Count, Read, Order, and Compare

This series of interactive excel sheets, aimed at students in Year One, looks at counting, reading ordering and comparing numbers. Answers can be checked each time and new questions generated at the click of a button. To return to the menu click on the musical note button.

In the first sheet students have to count how many items are shown on the page and then increase the amount of tens and units to match the number of items.

In the second sheet students have to make a two-digit target number by clicking on the correct amount of ‘tens’ and ‘unit’ cubes.

The third sheet demonstrates partitioning two-digit numbers into tens and units. The fourth sheet asks students to complete a ‘less than’, ‘greater than’ or ‘the same as‘ sentence by selecting a number from seven possible options.

In the fifth sheet students have to place five monetary values in order from smallest to largest.

The sixth sheets contains five consecutive numbers where two numbers have been swapped places. Students have to highlight the two numbers that are out of place.

In the seventh sheet students have to fill in the missing blanks in a list of five consecutive numbers. The first and the last numbers are given, and there are eight possible suggestions to choose from.

The eighth sheet looks at number bonds to ten by asking students how many smiley faces are in bed, or how many are out of bed. Students have to select the missing number required to make 10. This skill is repeated in the following sheet.

The following sheet contains a series of sums. Students have to select the options that will make 10. The next sheet contains additions and subtractions that will make ten.
