Budding gardeners

Groups of students from Townley Grammar School for Girls took part in RHS Wisley’s Budding Gardeners' Wonderland’ Competition 2015, with the assistance of two STEM Ambassadors – an RHS landscape designer and a landscape architect. The brief was similar to an enterprise project – to create a competition standard 1mx 1m pallet garden, fully scaled, modelled and costed.
In small teams, students established roles, created their ‘big idea’, conducted research and made scale models, and pitched their ideas as a presentation to a judging panel.
The top three winning teams had their pallet gardens recreated at the school and the overall winner was recreated and displayed at RHS Wisley during Chelsea Flower Show week.
