Forces and Magnets

The first activity in this resource gives pupils the opportunity to demonstrate working scientifically by designing and testing a chair for a pilot with limited time, budget and resources. This activity will support pupils understanding that engineers have to design, test and redesign in order to get things right, but learning is always happening on the journey. The second activity teaches pupils about magnets through exploration, observation and experimentation opportunities. Also included in this resource are instructions for pupils on how to make their own compass. This resource is part of a series of STEAM activities produced by Rolls Royce and links well with the LKS2 science curriculum.
