Rover and instrument design

This activity allows pupils to gain an understanding of the different requirements for rover and instrument design. Throughout the session pupils have the opportunity to research different instruments used in space exploration and create a presentation of what they have learned and which instruments they think are most important. Pupils can also draw or build their own rovers and instruments out of recycling. This activity links well with the primary curriculum in areas of engineering, design technology and science.

It may be possible to receive a build your own spectometer kit for your school.  Please use the contact details in the introductory presentation https://www.stem.org.uk/rxgu8g.
