Big picture

This journal is one of over 25,000 physical resources available from the Resources Collection. The Archive Collection covers over 50 years of curriculum development in the STEM subjects. The Contemporary Collection includes the latest publications from UK educational publishers.

Big Picture is a free and impartial educational resource that explores the innovations and implications of cutting-edge science. It sets out to connect modern biomedical science with its ethical and social challenges (including looking at how research impacts on individuals) and to place bioscience research in a historical and cultural context. It covers a wide range of topics, such as obesity, nanoscience, cognition, evolution, music and climate change. Its primary audience is biology teachers and post-16 biology students, but their resources also appeal to teachers and students of other age groups and fields of study, including citizenship, politics and philosophy.
