Shape and space without a worksheet for reception and year 1
This book includes 12 core activities for children as they make the transition from foundation stage to year 1. Each activity has an extension tasks, opportunities to encourage children to think mathematically without resorting to worksheets, simplifications and suggestions for developing ideas, resource lists and identification of learning outcomes.
The activities aim to help teachers by saving planning time and encouraging children to think mathematically. The ideas were written and selected by the Members of the ATM Early Childhood Group. The aim of the activities is to provide interesting and practical activities for children as they make the transition from Foundation Stage to Year 1. This can be a challenging time for both teachers and learners.
