Be a shrewd chooser

This book is part of a series which introduces problem solving into the classroom. It is designed to help students to develop mathematical, strategic and social skills whilst they are taking part in solving problems which are realistic and within their capabilities. This module is about making choices as a consumer. Students research and produce consumer reports which inform people on how to make better choices. Students are encouraged to: devise and carry out simple questionaires or interviews; analyse simple data; select and use sources of information; present data; devise and present clear and reasoned recommendations; understand, compare and explain alternative methods of purchase; justify the selection of a recommended method of payment to suit given circumstances
