Young scientist investigates teacher's book of practical work

The Young Scientist Investigates Teacher’s Book of Practical Work consists of a collection of 150 activities to supplement those given in the Young Scientist Investigates Topic Books, the two course books and the accompanying Teacher's Manual. The activities are written in a simple form for direct use by the students. The instructions can be photocopied or made into cards for direct use by the students. All activities are well-tried and tested, and require only simple apparatus and equipment.

Many of the activities can be used to extend the learning in several of the units within the Young Scientist course. A chart is given at the beginning of the book to enable the teacher to select those experiments suitable for any particular topic. Notes for teachers on the safety and other precautions necessary when planning and carrying out the experiments, and guidance as to the results to be expected, are given in a separate section at the end of the book. It is intended that the material will lead to discussions amongst the children, as a result of which it is hoped that they will be able to suggest and undertake new lines of investigation for themselves.
