Last flight of the space shuttle

Documentary following the preparations for the final launch in NASA's Space Shuttle program. From 1981 to 2011 the Shuttle program was used to send astronauts to space on shuttles which could then re-enter the Earth's atmosphere and land. Due to its long history, the retirement of the shuttle was an occasion of great sadness for many. Featuring interviews with engineers and astronauts involved in the program and behind the scenes footage, this documentary takes a look at the 18 months leading up to the final launch of a NASA space shuttle.
