Games in the teaching of mathematics

This book shows how games can be used as a motivating and effective way of teaching mathematics. It is an invaluable resource containing nearly 200 ideas for games for use in primary and secondary schools.

All the games are referenced to the mathematics national curriculum of England and Wales. The book considers ways of categorising games and suggests ways in which games can be invented or adapted to fulfil a particular function. The emphasis is on games which develop mathematical thinking and are easy to use. There are 32 photocopy masters which provide boards and score sheets.
