Engineering Fairy Tales

This collection provides several engineering or D&T activities that are set in the context of popular Fairy Tales. Each activity finds a problem that a character in the story has and asks children to come up with an engineering solution for the problem. Children then work together in teams to design and make their solutions for the problem the characters have in each story. A reading of each Fairy Tale is provided in videos from real life engineers.

These activities are a great way of linking D&T at primary with learning in English. They have been developed by STEMFirst. The stories have been provided by BAE Systems, the Royal Navy, British Army and RAF.
