Survival

This Nuffield Working with Science unit used the study of survival techniques to give students opportunities to collect evidence, advance hypotheses, and design experiments. Students were encouraged to investigate situations in which people can be faced with unexpected dangers. They learnt about situations that can lead to human stress and found out something about the principles involved as well as considering how people are likely to react in a crisis.

Guidance for teachers and technicians appears in Teachers’ Notes D.

This unit was not included in the second, CPVE edition of the project.
