STEM Ambassador Support: Diversity

This information sheet, from the Royal Academy of Engineering, provides teachers with a challenges to stereotyping activity. Some students may not understand what engineering involves, others may be fully engaged in another subject, while for some engineering may appear too hard or culturally irrelevant. By using this resource teachers should have a good chance of inspiring all young people, regardless of their background, to see engineering and technology as positively beneficial to their present and future lives. The information sheet looks at potential barriers and with the aid of three case studies shows how these can be overcome.
