Averages and spread: three

This Core Maths revision exercise gives the opportunity for students to practise calculating different measures of location and dispersion, and to interpret their results.

The activity sheet contains discrete data and grouped data questions, including some where students are required to choose their own class intervals. Students calculate averages, standard deviation, range and inter-quartile range as well as draw and interpret a box plot.

The teachers' notes include detailed possible solutions and suggested approaches.
