Numeracy Ideas

This resource contains 23 instant maths ideas exploring number problems such as how many ways the digits one to nine can be combined to make 100 and how many ways 100 can be made out of four nines. Target numbers, mental squares, arithmagons, bingo and other number puzzles all provide students an opportunity to gain a better feel for number. Student resources include an activity based upon the dates different composers were alive, a task transposing numbers for letters, ‘unmagic’ squares, the broken calculator, a task to find which day of the week famous events took place and a biggest product investigation.
