Partnership in Engineering Between Industry and College
Produced by the Learning Skills Improvement Service, these materials help to demonstrate effective practice. This case study looks at the theme of employer engagement. Loughborough College identified the further provision of apprenticeships as a key goal. This case study investigates the key success factors of a long-term partnership between a local company and the college. This was done by interviewing key contacts at both organisations. Three key success factors were identified for dissemination: 1. Ensure rapid and effective communication and trust between both partners. 2. Develop a two-way relationship whereby both organisations contribute and both organisations benefit. 3. The educational partner must be flexible and responsive to the needs of industry.
