Targeting Level 4 in Year 7: Section Four - Consolidation Lessons

These 12 revision lessons on topics that many students will have met before are, with some of the detailed content.

1. Place value, addition and subtraction Use standard column procedures to add and subtract whole numbers.
2. Multiplication Multiply and divide integers and decimals mentally by 10, 100 and 1000, and explain the effect.
3. Using Fractions Order fractions.
4. Fractions and decimals Reduce a fraction to its simplest form by cancelling common factors in the numerator and denominator.
5. Probability Use vocabulary and ideas of probability.
6. Calculators Enter numbers (in a calculator) and interpret the display in different contexts.
7. Word problems Solve simple problems about ratio and proportion.
8. Interpreting data Interpret diagrams and graphs (including pie charts) and draw simple conclusions.
9. Shapes and angles Know the sum of angles at a point, on a straight line and in a triangle.
10. Coordinates and reflections Understand and use the language and notation associated with reflections.
11. Sequences Generate sequences from practical contexts.
12. Perimeter and area Know and use the formula for the area of a rectangle; calculate the perimeter and area of shapes made from rectangles.
