Mathematics Challenge
The main aim of Mathematics Challenge is to provide targeted one-to-one support to help those year seven students currently achieving level three in mathematics to attain level four.
Some pupils working at level four may also benefit from parts of the programme to address
particular weaknesses.
The Mathematics Challenge pack consists of:
*information for the school organiser, a summary for the school strategy manager
*information for year seven mathematics teachers, advice for coaches and support units and resources.
Each of the 10 units have a target, an explanation of what students should already be able to do, common errors that might occur and clear lesson sequences with vocabulary and key questions.
The topics cover mental calculation and tables, fractions, angles, graphs and charts, sequences and length and perimeter
