Maths for the Terrified: Involving Parents

This Teachers TV video shows how one primary school engaged with parents to support mathematics. Wylde Green Primary School, Sutton Coldfield invites parents to mathematics workshops with their children, where they learn to use consistent methods and techniques to positively support mathematics at home. The school also provides parents with a resource pack including whiteboards, number squares, mathematical games and a DVD to support current techniques for learning mathematics.

The programme highlights key recommendations from the Williams Report on mathematics teaching seen in practice at Wylde Green School and at a student's home.
